Peter Agnew
After a diverse corporate career, I established Why Knot in 2006 to help people deal with both acute and chronic pain in their day-to-day lives using massage therapy. But pain can be more than just physical, which is why Why Knot also now provides psychotherapy services using profound techniques like Compassionate Inquiry (CI) and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
My passion is to help clients remove the physical and emotional barriers that restrict their ability to enjoy their lives to the fullest. Whether it's through effective massage therapy for the physical effects of acute or chronic injury or stress, or through psychotherapy for emotional healing, I offer a non-judgmental and comfortable environment for all clients.
I am dedicated to providing my clients with safe and appropriate treatment, maintaining a high standard of professional service at all times. As a Fellow member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society, a member of the Australian Counselling Association and having completed the professional Compassionate Inquiry training with renowned trauma expert Dr. Gabor Maté, as well as the Internal Family Systems Circle training, I am committed to continuing my education and staying up-to-date with the latest techniques and best practices in the field. To this end I am currently working towards a Masters of Counselling.
My diverse background includes several years answering crisis calls at Lifeline, university qualifications in electrical engineering, risk management, and applied finance, teaching Aikido, and a dedicated meditation practice spanning 25 years, which together, helps me bring a unique and holistic approach to healing at Why Knot.
If you're looking to address your physical or emotional pain, please don't hesitate to contact me at Why Knot.
